Atopica for Cats is indicated for the control of feline allergic dermatitis.
The adverse reactions to oral cyclosporine in cats are very few. Gastrointestinal irritation is the most common reported adverse effect and occurs in approximately 25-30% of patients (only approx. 5% severe enough to discontinue therapy). Gingival hyperplasia and papilloma-like lesions have been reported but are rare occurring in less then 3% of dogs receiving cyclosporine therapy. Cyclosporine also suppresses the immune system and can rarely predispose cats to infections.
