Description

Mirtazapine is the most effective appetite stimulant for cats.  We recommend giving approximately 1 mg daily.  We use the smallest gel caps available, size 5, that are easily administered to cats.

Side effects include diarrhea, ataxia, tremors, fever which we have not seen with the 1mg dosage.  It generally occurs within 1 hour of first dose.  If this is the first time using this medication, we can provide you with cyproheptadine which counteracts the side effects if they occur.  Please go to cyrpoheptadine and click on free dose to be included with mirtazapine.
